Traditional Thai Massage
Traditional Thai Massage is an ancient massage, dating back over 2500 years. Often known as the “lazy person’s yoga”, it’s performed on a large, thick floor Thai mat with the client wearing loose comfortable clothing. It’s suitable for most people of all ages, regardless of their level of flexibility.
Thai massage combines deep muscle compressions, acupressure, reflexology and passive yoga like stretches. Some may say that the results are like seeing your chiropractor, massage therapist, acupuncturist and completing a yoga class all in one.
This modality focuses on specific energy channels that run parallel to the fascial patterns of the body. When properly addressed it can significantly help to improve mobility, alleviate pain and tension thus leaving the client feeling deeply relaxed and energized at the same time.
Gentle rocking and meditative rhythm assist in calming the nervous system and have a positive effect on the mind and body. The amount of pressure used and depth of stretches is met to the client’s needs and ability at the time. There is a vast array of techniques used by each Advanced Thai Practitioner, including the use of their hands, feet, legs, elbows and specialized Thai tools to release tension and overall restore balance.
